Improve your golf

Paul Stuart developed his love for the game of golf at early age, regularly playing three rounds a day in the school holidays. Working with former Ryder Cup player, George Will, shaped his passion and dedication, as George encouraged and mentored leading to a successful amateur career, culminating in England honours. Progressing into the Professional ranks, spells on the local mini tours and a brief spell on The Challenge exposed him to many coaching styles as his desire to improve his knowledge of the game drove him forward. These past experiences have contributed to Paul’s success as an Instructor as he continues to build The LGC Academy.

Paul’s Coaching Philosophy

Golfers that stand the test of time, at any level, are all great ball strikers, so I work hard with my players on this area of the game. Working with my players to understand their golfing aspirations and goals is also very important, as we look to develop a road map for them to achieve their aims, with effective practice drills and course management strategies.

“I have been fortunate to work with great coaches such as Martin Chuck (TourStriker) & Scott Cowx (voted Canada’s #1 Instructor in 2020) amongst others, these experiences have taught me that ‘a one swing fits all’ solution is not practical. We are all built differently and all have varying levels of flexibility, this will massively influence how we are able to swing the club. I use a more ‘holistic’ approach to coaching, if I can encourage my players to understand how their body works within their swing, they will have a better understanding of why they hit certain golf shots.

I like to think my coaching is progressive, embracing modern technology to help my players develop their skills - using Trackman & Hackmotion, when coaching, often validates what I am working on.  The data they provide help both the coach and player understand better what is happening through the swing. Coupled with video analysis both face-to-face and virtually online, the player is well equipped to leave the lesson with a clearer picture in the areas that need some work.”

Testimonial from John Hudson, LGC Members;

‘Paul is a patient, thoughtful teacher, always ahead of the game regarding new teaching thoughts & techniques. He has worked with me since I semi retired and I am reaping the benefits, now its down to me to practice what Paul teaches’
